New Primitives Floor Lamp in Aluminum Post-Digital Sculptural Design, Unique, by MTHARU

In Stock. The new Primitives floor lamp (24” x 30” x 72”H) is a one of a kind exploration in post-digital design. It utilizes aluminum obtained as a byproduct from digital fabrication machines, paired with a steel substructure, LED’s, and metal mesh electrical cables.

This design is a result of using the child of a sphere and a cone as a departure geometry, where the geometry was derived through the misuse of Photogrammetry 3D scanning software. The old primitives are forced to give birth to the new primitives, and the formal gestures are based on Surrealism to create a connection to familiar primitives.

The lamp is treated as a family of these new Primitives, alive together and in-motion. It’s proportions and vivid texture creates an opportunity for personal physical interaction with the environment.

These lighting sculptures can be recreated in customized dimensions and materiality upon request.
