Kamino Floor Lamp, Handmade LED Lighting Fixture in Concrete and Latex by Mtharu

This listing is for the Kamino floor lamp (5" diameter x 48" height). The Kamino lamp was a spontaneous exploration on how objects can meet the ground using aspects of the object itself. It accentuates the duality between organic and manmade through the sharp contrast between the body and the LED light. The simple shape of the lighting fixture makes it highly customizable and currently it is made using cement, latex, and basalt. Our in house scagliola technique can also be applied to the design.

The application of materiality is done completely through a technique of sketching while making where the design is sculpturally produced by hand without the use of any digital tools. The electrical cable is sheathed in a metal jacket to continue the highly textured design language of the lamp.
